Registered Nurse School Setting - Lawrence, KS

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students each week as a Registered Nurse supporting a special needs classroom on a flexible contract schedule. In this impactful role, you’ll deliver essential health services to students with disabilities, collaborating closely with educators and support teams. Your care will extend beyond the classroom, as you may also assist with medical needs during the students' bus or van rides to and from school.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

• Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Experience working with children, ideally in a special education or special needs setting (preferred, not required)
• Compassion, patience, and excellent communication skills
• Ability to adapt in dynamic, student-centered environments

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct health services to assigned students in a center-based special education classroom
• Collaborate with school staff, therapists, and families to support students’ individual health needs
• Monitor and maintain health records for students in accordance with school policies and procedures
• Administer prescribed medications and provide emergency care as needed
• Support students with medical needs during school transportation as assigned
• Serve as an on-site resource for health-related inquiries and emergency interventions
