Registered Nurse School Setting - Lawrence, MA

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students with complex medical needs on their journey to and from school. This specialized role is based in the Lawrence, MA area and focuses on providing attentive nursing care during morning bus routes for the 2026-2027 school year. Approximate commitment is 7.5 hours per week, ideal for nurses seeking meaningful part-time work. Pickup begins at 6:15 AM with return by 7:45 AM, Monday through Friday.

You’ll care for a diverse group of students—ranging in age from 3 to 21 years—each with unique healthcare needs, including seizure disorders, g-tube management, oxygen therapy, diabetes, allergies, and more. Your expertise will ensure safe, comfortable transportation and peace of mind for students, families, and school staff.

Qualifications
• Active Massachusetts LPN or RN license
• At least one year of nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics or school settings
• Confidence and proficiency in g-tube and seizure management, oxygen and suctioning procedures, and emergency medication administration
• Strong observational skills and clinical judgement
• Calm, compassionate demeanor and the ability to advocate for medically complex students
• Ability to coordinate care and collaborate with families and school nursing teams

Key Responsibilities
• Ride morning bus routes with assigned students and monitor their health status
• Provide clinical interventions as needed, including PRN medication administration and emergency care
• Adhere to each student’s transportation plan and school nurse instructions
• Communicate clearly with school health staff and driver
• Participate in route familiarization and orientation sessions prior to independent work
