School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Lees Summit, Missouri

A K-12 school district in Lees Summit, MO is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to fill a float position supporting general health room needs across multiple school sites. This contract role runs through the current school year, with a start date as soon as possible and continuing through May 28th. Flexibility and adaptability are essential as schedules vary between schools and can change weekly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to students ranging from Pre-K through 12th grade.
• Manage the health room independently after a two-week training period alongside an experienced nurse.
• Handle daily health needs, triage, and emergencies in a fast-paced school environment.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records using computer-based charting systems.
• Adjust schedules proactively based on field trips, staff call-outs, and school start/end times.
• Collaborate remotely with school staff to promote student health and safety.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Current and clear Missouri RN license (no restrictions or hits on Nursys).
• Recent pediatric nursing experience preferred; ICU, ER, or school nursing background strongly desired.
• Demonstrated proficiency using technology for electronic documentation.
• Ability to multitask effectively and respond promptly to changing priorities.
• Comfort working independently within a school health setting.
• Flexibility with varied work hours, typically between 7:00 am – 4:30 pm depending on location.
