Key Qualifications:

  • Active RN licensure in Kansas
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (current)
  • Prior experience in school nursing, pediatric nursing, or similar settings
  • For the 1:1 nurse position: documented trach and vent training required
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to respond to a variety of student health concerns with professionalism and compassion

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care and health services to students during the school day
  • Administer medications, monitor chronic health conditions, and deliver first aid as needed
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized health care plans for students
  • Communicate effectively with staff, families, and medical professionals to coordinate student care
  • Maintain accurate health records and adhere to confidentiality standards
  • For the 1:1 nurse: oversee specialized care for a student with trach and vent needs throughout the school day
  • Classroom nurse: deliver general nursing support and assist in the day-to-day health needs of students
