Make an impact this summer while working with students in a supportive educational environment. Registered Nurses are needed for an Extended School Year (ESY) program this July. There are three contract openings: one for a 1:1 nursing assignment, and two for general nursing support. Step into a role that allows you to provide high-quality care and health oversight to elementary, middle, or high school students, working as a valued member of the school team.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active RN license in Maine
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
- Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to respond effectively to medical emergencies and manage student care needs independently
- Current CPR certification
Responsibilities:
- Deliver health services to students daily during the ESY program
- 1:1 nurse: Provide direct care and medical support to an assigned student
- General nurse roles: Oversee and manage care for student groups, administer medications, and handle any acute health needs
- Maintain accurate and detailed health records in accordance with school and legal requirements
- Communicate clearly with staff, students, and families regarding health needs and plans
- Uphold infection control and safety protocols at all times
Position Details:
- Program runs July 6 through July 30
- In person only, no remote options available
- Monday to Thursday schedule
- General nurse: 5 hours/day; 1:1 nurse: 4 hours/day
- Elementary hours: 9:00am–1:00pm; Middle/High School: 8:00am–12:00pm
