School Registered Nurse - ME

Soliant is seeking a Registered Nurse (School Nurse) for the 2026–2027 school year to provide high-quality healthcare and support the physical, emotional, and overall well-being of students. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work closely with students, families, and school staff while helping create a safe and supportive learning environment.

Assignment Details

• Position: Full-time; 35–40 hours per week
• Duration: 2026–2027 school year
• Setting: School-based nursing
• Open to: Traveling Registered Nurses
• Specialty Requirement: Trach experience required

Required Qualifications

• Active Maine Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Previous tracheostomy (trach) care experience required
• Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to provide safe and compassionate care to students

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous school nursing or pediatric nursing experience
• Experience supporting students with chronic health conditions or complex medical needs
• Familiarity with IEPs, 504 plans, and individualized healthcare plans
• Experience with medication administration and health documentation
• Ability to collaborate effectively with families, educators, and related service providers

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care, health assessments, and first aid to students
• Provide tracheostomy care and monitoring as required
• Monitor and support students with chronic health conditions and complex medical needs
• Administer and document medications according to school policies
• Maintain accurate student health records and medical documentation
• Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans as needed
• Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health concerns
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, therapists, and other healthcare professionals
• Promote student health, safety, and wellness throughout the school environment
