Seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Registered Nurse with a Certified School Nurse credential or a Master's in School Nursing for a per diem opportunity near Los Angeles, CA. This specialized role focuses on conducting skills assessments for Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs), ensuring they possess competence in key medical procedures within a school setting.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current, valid RN license required
  • Certified School Nurse credential or Master’s degree in School Nursing
  • In-depth experience with trach, g-tube, and ventilator care
  • Familiarity with school health protocols and student healthcare needs
  • Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to provide clear feedback and guidance to LVN staff

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform in-person skills assessments of LVNs, evaluating proficiency in tracheostomy care, gastrostomy tube management, and ventilator operation
  • Use evidence-based criteria to assess skill levels and provide constructive feedback for improvement
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all assessments following school policy standards
  • Support the ongoing professional development of LVNs with recommendations for training or additional practice
  • Ensure that health and safety practices align with best nursing practices and regulatory requirements
