A healthcare opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse (RN) with expertise in school nursing to provide skilled clinical assessments and support for Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) in a school setting. This per diem position is located in Los Angeles, CA and is ideal for a certified and licensed RN who specializes in school nursing.

Key Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Certified School Nurse credential or Master’s degree in School Nursing.
  • Experience conducting skills assessments for LVNs, particularly related to tracheostomy care, gastrostomy (g-tube) management, and ventilator support.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of pediatric nursing needs in educational environments.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively communicate with school health staff and administrators.

Location:

  • Los Angeles, California — work takes place within school facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed skills assessments and competency evaluations for LVNs supporting students with complex medical needs.
  • Monitor and provide guidance on the care and management of tracheostomies, feeding tubes, and ventilator-dependent students.
  • Collaborate with school health teams to ensure compliance with healthcare protocols and individual health plans.
  • Support training and education initiatives for school nursing staff to maintain high standards of care.
  • Document assessments and report findings clearly to school administrators and healthcare providers.
