This full-time contract position is available with a brand-new client, located just 45 minutes north of Durham. Hours run from 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., allowing you to maintain a steady work-life balance while making a real difference each day.

As the dedicated RN, you’ll be supporting a non-verbal, nearly blind elementary student who requires respiratory monitoring and g-tube care. Your expertise will create a safer, more inclusive learning environment while allowing your student to engage and grow alongside their peers. Qualifications & Experience:

• Active RN licensure in North Carolina (or compact state)
• Previous experience in pediatric, school, or 1:1 nursing settings strongly preferred
• Proficient in g-tube care and respiratory monitoring
• Comfort working with non-verbal and low-vision students
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, teachers, and school staff
• Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct, 1:1 nursing support during school hours
• Administer g-tube feedings and medications as prescribed
• Monitor and respond promptly to respiratory needs and medical concerns
• Maintain clear documentation of all care provided
• Foster a stable, nurturing environment for the student within the classroom
• Communicate regularly with parents and school personnel regarding student needs
