School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Minneapolis, Minnesota

This part-time contract opportunity lets you make a meaningful difference in a middle school environment, providing essential health office support and care to students. Work every Tuesday from 7:45 am to 3:00 pm, with the possibility of picking up 1-2 extra days per week as district needs arise.

Skills and Experience Sought:

• Current RN, LPN, or LVN license valid in Minnesota
• Previous nursing experience; school-based or pediatric care is a plus
• Knowledge of general nursing practices, including first aid, medication administration, and chronic condition management
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively in a busy setting
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Strong organizational skills for documenting student health visits and following care plans
• Commitment to upholding student confidentiality and district health policies

Key Responsibilities:

• Staff the health office during school hours, providing compassionate care for illness, injuries, and emergencies
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments as outlined by healthcare providers
• Manage and maintain accurate student health records
• Communicate health concerns with students, parents, and school staff as necessary
• Support district health initiatives and collaborate with the broader school health team
• Help students learn about wellness, hygiene, and healthy habits
