School Registered Nurse (RN) in Monticello, MN

A rewarding opportunity awaits a skilled and compassionate RN or LPN/LVN to provide 1:1 private duty nursing support for a student commuting from Buffalo, MN to Monticello Middle School. This contract position offers a fulfilling blend of school-based nursing and direct impact on a student’s daily life.

Work Schedule & Setting:

• Monday–Friday, approximately 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM, following the Monticello District calendar
• In-school hours: 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
• Commute: Ride the bus with the student both to and from school (20 minutes each way)
• Additional coverage needed for Mondays only with a high school student in a similar arrangement

Key Qualifications:

• Valid RN or LPN/LVN license
• School nursing or previous pediatric experience highly valued
• Strong proficiency with tube feeding and medication administration
• Capable of monitoring oxygen saturations; able to apply oxygen as indicated
• Confidence and skill in using a Hoyer lift and stander (training provided for unique student equipment)
• Homecare work is a plus, but not mandatory
• Ability to develop rapport with students and collaborate with school staff

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide attentive, compassionate care and ensure safety during school and transit
• Monitor respiratory status, manage oxygen, and respond promptly to student needs
• Administer medications and tube feedings according to care plan
• Support student’s mobility needs, including safe transfers and proper equipment use
• Maintain clear, timely communication with family and school personnel
