Qualifications and Experience:
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Valid Certified School Nurse (CSN) credential
- Prior experience in a school setting or working with pediatric populations strongly preferred
- Up-to-date CPR and First Aid certification
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication, assessment, and organizational skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized health care plans for students with specialized medical needs
- Administer medications, provide direct nursing care, and respond to student health emergencies
- Conduct health screenings, including vision, hearing, and immunization compliance
- Serve as a health advocate and resource for students, staff, and families
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records per state and district guidelines
- Educate students and staff on topics such as hygiene, nutrition, and chronic disease management
- Collaborate with administrators, counselors, and teachers to address student health barriers to learning
