Make a difference in the lives of students by providing essential healthcare as a .4 FTE School Nurse for the full academic year. Located just outside Mount Vernon, WA, this contract opportunity invites Registered Nurses who are passionate about school-based care to support the wellbeing of K-12 students. Your clinical expertise will play a vital role in creating a safe, healthy school environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid RN license in the state of Washington
  • Previous experience as a school nurse or in pediatric nursing preferred
  • Strong assessment, triage, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with IEPs, 504 plans, and public health guidelines
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and administrators
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care, first aid, and medical support to students and staff
  • Administer medications and manage care for chronic health conditions
  • Maintain student health records and documentation in compliance with district policies
  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of health care plans, including for students with specialized needs
  • Monitor and respond effectively to health emergencies or communicable disease outbreaks
  • Educate students and staff on health topics, hygiene, safety, and disease prevention
