Seeking experienced registered nurses to support school health services in a part-time, contract role spanning from August 2026 through June 2027. In this setting, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and supportive environment for students, working closely with school staff to deliver essential healthcare services.
Key Qualifications:
- Active California RN license, in good standing
- Experience in a school, pediatric, or similar healthcare environment preferred
- Ability to clear a criminal background check and complete a TB risk assessment within 60 days prior to start
- Understanding of California’s mandated reporter requirements regarding suspected child abuse
- Strong communication, organization, and assessment skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse student populations
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support the day-to-day operations of the school health office
- Administer student medications per physician and parent instructions
- Perform California-required vision and hearing screenings for specified grade levels
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation as mandated
- Respond promptly to student illnesses, injuries, and health emergencies
- Act as a resource for health education, prevention, and wellness initiatives within the school community
