Embark on a rewarding, full-time contract opportunity as a Certified School Nurse in a dynamic school community near Wheaton, IL (zip: 60189). This assignment begins December 14, 2026, and continues through March 15, 2027, covering a 12-week maternity leave with the possibility to extend.

You'll play a key role supporting students across two welcoming school environments. From Monday through Wednesday, your day will run 7am–2:30pm at a high school; on Thursday and Friday, you'll work 8am–4pm at a nearby elementary school. School-set hours ensure you’ll be on hand when students need you most, while also providing a structured schedule for work-life balance.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Nurse Endorsement (required)
  • Current Illinois certification as a Certified School Nurse
  • Prior school nursing experience or relevant nursing background supporting students
  • Ability to provide comprehensive student health services and participate in IEP meetings
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with staff, students, and families
  • Organized, compassionate, and adaptable in fast-paced settings
  • Must submit PEL certification/license and resume with application

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to students in both health offices
  • Support IEP meetings by contributing insights related to students with special needs
  • Maintain thorough health records in accordance with school and district policies
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and administer first aid as needed
  • Educate students and staff on wellness and preventive health practices
