Registered Nurse School Setting - Naperville, IL

Seeking a dedicated Certified School Nurse (CSN) or current CSN student for a contract opportunity at a vibrant elementary school setting. This role centers on managing a busy health office, supporting student health needs, and playing a key part in IEP and 504 plan documentation and meetings. The environment is fast-paced but highly supportive, with a collaborative team of administrators and staff. School hours are 8:25 a.m. to 3:40 p.m., with the position running through May 28, 2027.

Ideal candidates are proactive, comfortable working independently, and flexible when it comes to stepping in wherever needed. You’ll manage medical records electronically, so confidence with technology is essential. In some instances, you may assist students with personal care needs as part of a compassionate, student-centered approach. This position requires a sustained commitment to consistent attendance for continuity of care.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with PEL endorsement for Certified School Nurse (CSN)—this role requires more than just an RN license.
• Progress toward or completion of CSN coursework (1-2 years training required).
• Experience as a CSN and fluency in Spanish are both significant assets.
• Comfortable managing a diverse range of daily tasks including health office operations, medical reviews, and electronic documentation.
• Experience supporting children with personal care needs in a school setting.
• Strong initiative, collaborative spirit, and a proven record of reliability.

Role Responsibilities:

• Oversee the health office and daily care of students.
• Participate in developing and documenting IEP and 504 plans.
• Conduct medical reviews and coordinate health-related student support.
• Collaborate closely with staff, families, and the multi-needs program.
