A contract position is available with part-time hours, working closely with students and staff to create a healthier, safer learning environment. Candidates will be joining a collaborative and welcoming school community with various caseloads, serving students from early childhood through eighth grade.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Connecticut RN license is required
- Prior experience working in a school setting is highly preferred
- Strong foundation and passion for supporting students with special education needs
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, and families
- Experience with individualized health care plans, emergency protocols, and medication administration in a school environment
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care, first aid, and health assessments to students as needed
- Address individual health needs and collaborate with special education staff to ensure students’ IEP needs are met
- Monitor and manage care for students with chronic health conditions or disabilities
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with district policies
- Engage with teachers and parents to deliver health information or consult on care plans
- Promote a safe and healthy school culture through education and preventive care
