School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) | New Britain, Connecticut

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Current RN license valid in Connecticut
• Prior experience in a school setting, or interest in pediatric or community nursing
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication with students, staff, and families
• Familiarity with managing chronic and acute health conditions
• Ability to maintain accurate and confidential health records
• CPR/BLS certification required

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct nursing care for illnesses, injuries, and chronic health conditions to students throughout the school day
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following specific care plans
• Conduct health screenings and immunization record reviews
• Respond to emergency situations and coordinate care with local healthcare providers as needed
• Participate in the development and implementation of individualized health plans (IEPs/504s)
• Educate students and staff on health topics, prevention, and safety measures
• Maintain proper documentation in compliance with school district and state guidelines
