Key Qualifications:
- Active, unencumbered RN license in the state
- Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience; previous school-based or pediatric experience highly preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to assess and respond to student health needs swiftly and compassionately
- Background check and immunization records required per district guidelines
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care and first aid to students and staff during the school day
- Administer and document prescribed medications and treatments
- Maintain accurate health records in compliance with local and state regulations
- Monitor students with chronic conditions, ensuring their individualized health plans are followed
- Serve as a resource to school staff on health-related questions and wellness education
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and healthcare providers regarding student health issues
- Participate in health screenings and immunization programs
- Support school safety protocols and emergency response procedures
