School Registered Nurse (RN) in Newark, NJ

This full-time, onsite position is perfect for an RN, LPN, or LVN with expertise in school nursing, eager to provide compassionate support and expert care to a single student.

You'll work directly with a male 7th grade student, offering comprehensive 1:1 medical care during the school day and on the bus, ensuring his well-being and safety from arrival to dismissal. School hours run Monday to Friday, 8:45 am to 2:00 pm, allowing for a fulfilling workday balanced with personal time. The current contract runs through June 2026, with the possibility to return for the following academic year.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid RN or LPN/LVN licensure in New Jersey
• Experience in school nursing or a pediatric care setting
• Proven ability supporting students with asthma, seizures, and other complex medical needs
• Skilled in G-tube feedings, catheterization, toileting, and diapering
• Comfort riding the school bus and adapting to a dynamic school environment
• Compassion, reliability, and clear communication skills are essential

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide safe, personalized 1:1 care for the student throughout the school day, including bus transport
• Deliver interventions such as G-tube feedings and manage seizure activity or asthma symptoms
• Assist with medical and personal care such as toileting, catheter care, and diaper changes
• Collaborate with the student’s family and school staff to support health plans and achieve educational goals
• Maintain accurate health records and document all care provided
