This contract opportunity is designed for experienced RN or LPN/LVN professionals eager to provide dedicated 1:1 care to a student in a vibrant educational environment just outside Newark, NJ. Your expertise will make a direct impact, offering consistent medical support from bus pick-up through the end of the school day.
Ideal candidates are passionate about pediatric care and thrive in a school-based setting. We’re seeking professionals who are adaptable, compassionate, and ready to engage in all aspects of a student's daily routine.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active RN or LPN/LVN license, with standing in good order
- Minimum of one year of pediatric experience (school setting preferred)
- Capable of independent decision-making and responding to emergent needs
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Previous experience in 1:1 roles or special needs support is a plus
- Candidates must not be new graduates
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 nursing care for a designated student, including riding the bus to and from school
- Administer routine and emergency medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed
- Monitor and document the student’s health status and report changes to appropriate parties
- Act as a liaison between the school, student’s family, and healthcare providers as needed
- Ensure the student’s health care plan is implemented safely and effectively throughout the day
- Maintain medical records and comply with school health policies
