A healthcare opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in school-based transportation nursing. This contract position involves providing dedicated care to a student with a seizure disorder during bus rides in Niagara Falls, NY. The role requires vigilance and the ability to monitor symptoms to ensure the student's safety during transit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one nursing care for a student with a seizure disorder on the school bus.
- Monitor the student closely for any signs of seizure activity or related symptoms.
- Manage health and safety protocols during morning and afternoon bus rides.
- Communicate effectively with school staff and caregivers regarding the student's condition and any incidents.
- Maintain accurate health records and report changes promptly.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with experience in school or pediatric nursing preferred.
- Background in providing care to students with seizure disorders or similar medical needs.
- Ability to perform 1:1 nursing care during transport.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Schedule and Location:
- Position based in Niagara Falls, NY.
- Contract assignment with a Monday through Friday schedule.
- Split shifts: 6:45 AM to 8:45 AM and 12:45 PM to 3:45 PM.
- Bus riding only; no school facility duties.
