School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) | North Tonawanda, New York

A contract opportunity is available for a dedicated Registered Nurse to serve as a Transportation Nurse, focused on 1:1 support for a student with a seizure disorder. This role centers on bus riding only, facilitating both morning and afternoon shifts Monday through Friday. You’ll be ensuring the student’s safety and wellbeing during transportation and acting swiftly in the event of any medical concerns.

Key Qualifications:

• Active RN license required (LPN/LVN with relevant school nursing experience may be considered)
• Previous pediatric, school, or 1:1 nursing experience preferred
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Comfortable monitoring and responding promptly to seizure symptoms
• CPR/BLS certification current

Schedule & Responsibilities:

• Split shift: 6:45 – 8:45 AM and 12:45 – 3:45 PM
• Provide on-bus supervision for one student with seizure disorder
• Monitor student for any signs or symptoms of medical distress
• Collaborate with school staff, bus personnel, and family to maintain continuity of care
• Maintain clear documentation of student status and any incidents
