In this part-time weekday role (Monday–Friday, 10:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., 27.5 hours per week), you’ll work closely with a student with diabetes, ensuring safe management and ongoing health monitoring throughout the school day. Your expertise as a Registered Nurse will play a vital role in the student’s daily success—both at school and while traveling on the bus to and from their work-based learning program.

Key Qualifications:

• Current New York State RN license required
• Prior experience in a school, pediatric, or similar care environment highly valued
• Strong assessment and diabetes care management skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff
• Compassionate, reliable, and committed to student well-being

Role Responsibilities:

• Monitor and support the medical needs of a student with diabetes
• Administer medications, check glucose levels, and respond to health incidents as needed
• Ride the bus with the student, ensuring safety on the way to and from school-sponsored programs
• Supervise and assist the student throughout the school day, advocating for their health and safety
• Document care and communicate updates with school teams and guardians
