School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Oak Lawn, Illinois

Make a meaningful impact supporting an individual student who requires comprehensive nursing care in an educational setting. A dedicated, full-time RN is needed as soon as possible to provide one-on-one support for a student with extensive medical needs. This contract role lets you bring your expertise and compassion into a school environment, fostering safety and well-being so the student can fully access their educational experience.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• School nursing experience strongly preferred
• Proficient in G-tube care, seizure management, and monitoring of VP shunts
• Experience supporting students with significant physical and medical needs
• Familiarity with working in wheelchair-accessible environments
• Ability to communicate effectively with teachers, staff, parents, and healthcare providers
• Compassion, patience, and a commitment to advocacy

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide full-time, individualized nursing care for a student during school hours
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including G-tube feedings and seizure interventions
• Monitor and respond to changes in the student’s health status, maintaining meticulous documentation
• Assist with mobility and activities of daily living
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary school teams and participate in IEP meetings as needed
• Serve as a point of contact for the student’s medical needs while on campus
