Registered Nurse School Setting in Oakland, CA

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active and unrestricted RN license in California
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Experience in pediatrics, school nursing, or public health strongly valued
• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• Strong assessment and communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Comfortable managing a fast-paced, ever-changing caseload

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to students, including first aid, medication administration, and chronic condition management
• Develop care plans for students with unique health needs
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the school
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and families to promote student well-being
• Keep accurate health records in accordance with HIPAA and FERPA regulations
• Facilitate referrals to outside healthcare providers when necessary
• Educate students and staff on health and wellness topics
