A full-time Registered Nurse (RN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is needed for a school-based contract position in Opelika, AL, supporting an elementary school student. This role involves providing one-on-one nursing care for a 1st-grade student with developmental delays in a self-contained classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care as a 1:1 nurse to a student with developmental challenges
- Monitor and manage the student's health needs throughout the school day
- Coordinate with school staff and healthcare providers to support the student’s individualized education plan (IEP)
- Adapt to changes by potentially providing nursing support at other school locations if the primary student is absent
Qualifications:
- Current RN or BSN license
- Minimum of two years nursing experience; ICU experience preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to work full-time, 37.5 hours per week (7:15 am to 3:15 pm)
- Flexibility and willingness to float to other buildings as needed
