While you’ll serve as the district’s only Certified School Nurse, you’ll have the robust support of numerous dedicated RNs to ensure every student receives the best possible care.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Active Illinois Professional Educator’s License with Certified School Nurse (CSN) Endorsement—required
• Current RN (Registered Nurse) license
• Demonstrated experience conducting hearing and vision screenings in a school or pediatric setting
• Knowledge of IEP development and health plan updates for students with varied needs
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Adaptability and collaborative spirit for working within a team of nursing professionals

Responsibilities:

• Conduct hearing and vision screenings for students according to state and district guidelines
• Update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and student health plans, participating in meetings as needed
• Provide direct nursing care, triage, and health support during the school day
• Serve as the primary CSN for the district, cooperating closely with fellow RNs across multiple campuses
• Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all students
• Serve as a health advocate and resource for students, families, and staff
