Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Previous work as a school RN or school-based nursing experience is essential
- Comfortable with K-8 student population; approximately 500 students
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Able to adapt quickly in a school environment and work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to travel to and verify the school location is critical. Location details will be confirmed during the hiring process.
Core Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily health needs, illness/injury assessment, and direct care for students
- Administer medications and respond to health emergencies as needed
- Maintain accurate health records in compliance with school and legal requirements
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and faculty regarding health matters
- Implement individualized care plans and manage chronic conditions in the student body
- Serve as a health educator, promoting wellness and safety among students and staff
- Collaborate with school administration to ensure compliance with health protocols
This full-time position (37.5 hours/week) provides a platform to develop meaningful student relationships and support the overall wellness of a vibrant school community. The district expresses a preference for direct hire candidates, but contract professionals are welcomed.
