A full-time Registered Nurse (RN) position is available, specializing in school-based case management and nursing services within the High Desert area of California. This role is travel-oriented, serving educational locations between Bakersfield and Tehachapi, with the primary placement in Oro Grande, CA. The position offers a dynamic caseload requiring compassionate care and effective coordination to support student health and wellness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care and case management to students across multiple school sites within the assigned geographic area
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized health care plans to address the needs of students with medical complexities
  • Collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers to promote a safe and healthy school environment
  • Administer medications, perform treatments, and respond to medical emergencies as necessary
  • Maintain accurate and confidential health records in compliance with legal and ethical standards
  • Facilitate communication and education related to student health care among multidisciplinary teams

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid California RN license with active status
  • Experience in school nursing, case management, or pediatric nursing preferred
  • Ability to manage a caseload involving multiple school locations, including travel within the Bakersfield to Tehachapi corridor
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to effectively coordinate care among stakeholders
  • Flexibility for potential overtime and extended school year assignments

Location and Work Hours:

  • Full-time commitment of approximately 37.5 hours per week, with possible overtime opportunities
  • Position based out of Oro Grande, CA, with travel to surrounding high desert schools as required
