Seeking dedicated Registered Nurses to support students in an elementary school setting near Overland Park, KS, on a contract basis. This opportunity involves two distinct roles: a 1:1 nurse position requiring trach and vent training for individualized student care, and a classroom nurse role supporting a wider group of students. Your clinical skills and compassion will help create a safe, supportive environment for children.
Qualifications:
- Active RN license required
- Current BLS certification
- Experience with school nursing or pediatric care preferred
- For the 1:1 nurse role: demonstrated competency in tracheostomy and ventilator care
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate with educators, staff, and parents to facilitate optimal student health
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care to students as mandated in their healthcare plans
- Provide one-on-one monitoring and intervention as needed, particularly for students with complex medical needs
- Administer medications, manage medical equipment, and document care accurately
- Conduct health screenings and respond to health emergencies
- Educate staff and students on health and safety protocols
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all relevant health regulations
