Registered Nurse School Setting - Oxnard, CA

A school-based registered nurse (RN) is needed to support an elementary district serving transitional kindergarten through grade 8 students, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This contract position runs from August 18, 2025, through June 17, 2026, and involves providing nursing care districtwide with a focus on general health, chronic conditions, and urgent medical needs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing skilled nursing care for students with diabetes, including carb counting education tailored to young children
• Collaborating with existing school nurses and staff to meet the medical needs of students across multiple schools
• Offering medical support and monitoring for students with complex conditions such as ventilator or tracheostomy requirements (experience or certification preferred)
• Maintaining accurate health records and communicating effectively with parents and healthcare providers
• Promoting health education and wellness programs within the school setting

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Current RN licensure and valid school nursing credentials preferred
• Demonstrated expertise in diabetic care, especially pediatric carb counting
• Experience working in school nursing or pediatric healthcare settings preferred
• Ventilator and tracheostomy care experience or certification highly preferred
• Bilingual skills strongly preferred to serve a diverse student population
