This contract role is perfect for RNs and LPNs/LVNs seeking occasional assignments during the 25/26 school year. As a substitute nurse, you’ll play an essential part in supporting local school health services when regular staff members are absent.

Key Qualifications:

• Current, valid PA LPN or RN license required
• Previous school nursing or pediatric nursing experience preferred

• Reliable transportation for travel to various school sites

Role Overview:

• Provide coverage on an as-needed, per diem basis throughout the school district buildings
• Step in for school nurses or health room technicians who are out for the day
• Assess and manage student and staff medical needs according to individualized care plans
• Administer medications, respond to emergencies, and care for minor illnesses and injuries
• Document all care provided and communicate effectively with school administration and families as needed
• Adhere to all school policies and state regulations for nursing practice in educational settings
