School Registered Nurse (RN) in Paterson, NJ

This part-time, contract opportunity begins July 1, 2026, and runs through July 31, 2026, providing district-wide support across various school buildings. With five openings available—including four day shifts (8:30AM-12:30PM) and one night school nurse position (hours TBD)—this is a chance for credentialed, experienced professionals to make a real difference.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Active and valid school nurse licensure/certifications for New Jersey
• Direct school-based nursing experience (not solely clinical)
• Ability to provide holistic, district-wide healthcare to students and staff
• Strong assessment and communication skills to serve diverse student populations
• Previous fingerprint clearance or willingness to complete background screening with both the agency and district
• TB test and physical exam required prior to placement
• Ready for an ASAP start date; only credentialed candidates considered
• Flexibility to work assigned part-time hours (20 hours/week) onsite
• Available for in-person or Zoom interviews

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver acute and preventive care within assigned school(s), following district protocols
• Respond promptly to health emergencies, administering first aid and coordinating required interventions
• Support health education and wellness initiatives school-wide
• Maintain accurate health records and reporting as per state/district regulations
• Collaborate with faculty, parents, and allied professionals to promote student well-being
