Step into a dynamic contract role as a Registered Nurse supporting students in a special education district near Paterson, NJ. This full-time, onsite opportunity spans from September 3, 2026 to June 23, 2027, offering a unique itinerant position where you'll work across various campuses—specifically Maywood and Lodi. Your week will run Monday through Friday, with campus shifts from 8:30am-3:15pm in Maywood and 8:00am-2:45pm in Lodi, totaling 31.25 hours each week.
Key Qualifications:
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license required—applications from LPNs cannot be considered
- Experience or strong interest in school nursing and supporting students with diverse needs
- Ability to adapt to a mobile, itinerant schedule and work independently across multiple school sites
- Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills
- CPR/BLS certification and up-to-date immunizations
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive school nursing services as a district float RN, including managing student health concerns and assessing acute or chronic conditions onsite
- Administer medications safely and in line with school district policies
- Travel between Maywood and Lodi campuses as assigned within the special education district
- Occasionally accompany students on buses for field trips, ensuring their health and safety while away from school grounds
- Maintain detailed health records, communicate with families and staff, and contribute to the creation of a safe, supportive learning environment
