This unique opportunity calls for a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with hands-on experience in ventilator care. You’ll work directly with the student, ensuring their well-being throughout the school day and accompanying them on the bus to and from school. With a consistent weekday schedule and guaranteed Wednesdays off, this position offers both purpose and work-life balance.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current RN or LPN license
  • Ventilator care experience required (LPNs must have this)
  • Certification in CPR/BLS up to date
  • Skilled in caring for students with medical complexities
  • Previous school-based nursing or 1:1 nursing experience preferred
  • Comfortable riding the school bus and providing care in mobile settings
  • Ability to collaborate with school staff, parents, and medical professionals

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 nursing care and monitoring for a high school student with paralysis
  • Manage ventilator equipment and assist with other medical needs throughout the school day
  • Ensure student safety and dignity both in school and during bus transport
  • Maintain clear documentation of care, observations, and interventions
  • Communicate regularly with family and interdisciplinary teams regarding student status
  • Foster an encouraging environment to support the student’s academic and social development
