High School 1:1 School Registered Nurse | Pelzer, South Carolina

A rewarding opportunity awaits working 1:1 with a high school student who is paralyzed but cognitively high functioning. Providing essential support on a contract basis, this position is ideal for a Registered Nurse (RN) who is certified and licensed, or an LPN with ventilator experience. The role involves accompanying the student throughout the school day, including riding the bus to and from school, ensuring safety and comfort during all activities.

Your schedule will span 30 hours per week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with Wednesdays off as the student does not attend school on those days.

Key Qualifications:

• Active RN or LPN license in good standing
• School nursing experience preferred but not required
• Ventilator care experience required for LPN applicants
• Comfortable working 1:1 with high school students
• Ability to assist with mobility and healthcare needs while fostering a respectful, engaging relationship
• Willingness to ride the school bus daily with the student

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct medical care and monitoring for a high school student during the school day and while in transit
• Operate and maintain ventilator equipment as necessary
• Monitor the student’s health, ensure safety protocols are followed, and be prepared to respond in emergencies
• Maintain clear, confidential documentation of care and communication with school staff and families
• Encourage the student’s participation in classroom and school activities
