Key Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York
- Experience in pediatric, school, or community health settings preferred, but not required
- Excellent skills in assessment, communication, and organization
- Ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care to students managing illness, injury, and chronic health issues
- Assess the health status of students and determine suitable interventions
- Safely administer medications and treatments based on physician orders and school policies
- Maintain detailed and accurate student health records and necessary documentation
- Foster clear communication with parents, school personnel, and healthcare providers regarding student needs
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies, utilizing established emergency care protocols
- Advocate for student wellness through health education, prevention strategies, and ongoing support
