A full-time nursing opportunity is available in an elementary school setting in Phenix City, AL, offering a contract position for a full semester from January to May 22, 2026. This role involves providing dedicated 1:1 nursing support to a first-grade student with developmental delays in a self-contained classroom.
The position requires an RN or BSN credential with a commitment of 37.5 hours per week, working Monday through Friday from 7:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Applicants must have a minimum of two years of nursing experience, with ICU experience preferred but not mandatory. Flexibility is essential, as the nurse may be asked to provide coverage at other buildings if the assigned student is absent.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering personalized nursing care tailored to the developmental and medical needs of a young student
- Monitoring health status and administering treatments or medications as prescribed
- Collaborating with educators and support staff to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment
- Maintaining accurate health records and reporting to appropriate school and medical personnel
- Adapting to varying assignments, including floating to different locations as needed
Qualifications:
- Valid RN or BSN license
- At least two years of nursing experience
- Preferred experience in ICU or pediatric nursing
- Flexibility and adaptability in work assignments
