Step into a meaningful nursing role supporting an inspiring high school student for the 2026-2027 school year. This contracted opportunity allows you to make a direct, positive impact by providing 1:1 care for a student who is paralyzed but cognitively high functioning. You'll work closely with them throughout the school day—including assisting during bus rides—helping them fully participate in their academic journey.
This position consists of 30 hours per week, following the student's schedule. Notably, you'll enjoy Wednesdays off, as the student does not attend school that day, providing a consistent mid-week break.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- Experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
- Comfortable delivering compassionate 1:1 care
- Ability to effectively communicate and advocate for students with physical disabilities
- Willingness to ride the school bus and support the student from home to school and back
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, skilled nursing care for a high school student throughout the school day
- Assist with personal care as needed
- Ensure safety and well-being during transportation to and from school
- Monitor for changes in the student’s health status and communicate with school staff, family, and healthcare providers as necessary
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation
