School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Pittsford, New York

Embark on a rewarding, high-impact opportunity as a School Nurse supporting Career and Technical Education (CTE) classes in a dynamic educational environment. This per diem contract position is ideal for Registered Nurses with a passion for guiding the next generation of healthcare professionals. The schedule is designed for flexibility, with shifts from 8–10 am and 12–2 pm, and an immediate start is available. The duration will be determined as additional details become available.

In this role, you will play a vital part in shaping students’ learning by facilitating hands-on clinical experiences for those enrolled in the Nurse Assisting course. You’ll closely collaborate with classroom instructors, supervise on-the-job learning, and ensure students receive real-world skills in patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and mentor students during clinical rotations in a supportive 8:1 student-to-instructor setting.
• Develop, coordinate, and evaluate valid clinical experiences tailored to the Nurse Assisting curriculum.
• Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to create clinical instruction schedules and integrate theory with practice.
• Partner with agency personnel to ensure a quality clinical environment and address ongoing needs.
• Assess and document students’ progress throughout the clinical component.
• Support the Nurse Aide Teacher with related duties to ensure student success.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Hold or meet qualifications for the Civil Service title of School Nurse.
• Current New York State RN license.
• Recent experience in long-term care or nursing home settings.
• Ability to engage and inspire high school students interested in the certified nurse assisting field.
