Registered Nurse School Setting in Plainfield, IL

Step into a pivotal role supporting students’ well-being at a vibrant elementary school. We're seeking 1-2 Certified School Nurses (CSNs) or CSN students—this position requires more than an RN license and is not suited for LPNs, CNAs, or general RNs. The assignment runs from ASAP through the end of May 2027, with reliable, in-person coverage needed throughout the academic year.

Key Qualifications:

• Hold a BSN with a Professional Educator License endorsement as a Certified School Nurse (CSN) or are currently in the process of CSN coursework.
• Experience in school nursing and a strong grasp of managing health offices in educational settings.
• Confident independently managing tasks, while excelling as a collaborative, flexible team member.
• Technologically adept to document nursing activities and manage IEP and 504 Plan requirements electronically.
• Willing to provide personal care and support for students as needed within the school environment.
• Consistent attendance, reliability, and a clear commitment to the full school-year contract.
• Bilingual Spanish skills and prior CSN experience highly desirable.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Oversee and operate the school’s health office, collaborating closely with school administrators, multi-needs nurses, and 1:1 nurse providers.
• Conduct medical reviews and ensure compliance with state and school district requirements.
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary IEP and 504 meetings, supporting students’ health-related accommodations.
• Provide occasional personal care assistance, fostering a safe and inclusive atmosphere for all students.
