Key Qualifications:
- Current RN license with clear standing
- Demonstrated pediatric nursing experience (required)
- Background in school nursing preferred
- Experience working with students requiring complex medical care, especially with NG-tubes
- Able to lift and safely transport a non-ambulatory student (approximately 24 lbs)
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Commitment to student safety and comfort during bus transportation and throughout the school day
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct 1:1 nursing care to a 3-year-old student diagnosed with Infantile Neuroaxonal Dystrophy (INAD)
- Manage all NG-tube care (no G-tube interventions required)
- Assist with lifting, transferring, and transport between locations, ensuring mobility and safety
- Ride the school bus with the student each day, providing vigilant care and support
- Maintain clear documentation and collaborate closely with school staff, therapists, and family
- Respond swiftly to health concerns and emergencies as they arise
- Foster a nurturing, supportive atmosphere allowing for the student’s participation in school activities within their capabilities
This full-time contract runs from September through June, offering approximately 35 hours per week (8am–3pm, Monday to Friday) in a single onsite school location.
