School Registered Nurse (RN) in Poland, ME

Exciting opportunities are available for Registered Nurses committed to supporting students’ health and well-being during an Extended School Year (ESY) program. These contract positions offer a chance to make a genuine impact within an educational environment during the summer session, in a hands-on, in-person capacity.

There are three openings: one specialized 1:1 nurse assignment and two general nursing roles. Work days are Monday through Thursday, with a schedule that provides flexibility—general nursing positions run 5 hours daily, while the 1:1 nurse role is 4 hours per day. Elementary school hours are 9:00am-1:00pm and middle/high school hours are 8:00am-12:00pm. The program runs from July 6th through July 30th.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Previous experience as a school nurse or in pediatric/educational settings preferred
• Ability to adapt to varied student needs, including individualized care and general nursing support
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with school health guidelines
• Commitment to working the full ESY session, in person

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct nursing care to students, including medication administration and first aid
• Support students with chronic health needs or disabilities, including 1:1 care as assigned
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation for all interactions
• Collaborate with school staff, families, and other professionals as needed
• Respond promptly to health emergencies and promote safe, healthy learning environments
