A travel Registered Nurse (RN) opportunity is available in Port Hueneme, CA, supporting an elementary school district serving grades TK through 8. This role is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, from August 18, 2025, through June 17, 2026. The position focuses on providing general nursing support districtwide, with specialized attention to students with diabetes and other medical needs.

Key responsibilities include managing diabetic care—such as carb counting for young children—collaborating with school nurses, and addressing various healthcare needs across multiple school sites. Experience with ventilator and tracheostomy care or related certifications is highly preferred to support students requiring these services.

Desired qualifications and experience:

  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with previous school nursing experience strongly preferred
  • Strong proficiency in diabetic care, including carbohydrate counting for young children
  • Experience or certification in ventilator and tracheostomy care highly preferred
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with school nurses and healthcare professionals
  • Bilingual skills are highly preferred to better serve diverse student populations
