Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maine (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous nursing experience in school, pediatric, or community health settings preferred
- Current BLS certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate direct care for students with acute or chronic health needs
- Conduct health assessments, administer medications, and manage care plans for students with medical conditions
- Coordinate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers to facilitate student health and safety
- Monitor and respond to health emergencies, following appropriate protocols
- Document all nursing care, assessments, and interventions accurately and confidentially
- Promote wellness through education for students, staff, and families
- Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or 504 meetings as needed
