A contract opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with a background in school nursing, starting ASAP through June 22nd, located in Quincy, MA. This role is ideal for an RN with hands-on school experience, particularly those comfortable managing student health within an educational setting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing general nursing care to students throughout the school day
  • Managing diabetic care for several students with diabetes—experience in this area is a significant advantage
  • Monitoring student health and administering medications as needed
  • Maintaining accurate health records and communicating with school staff and parents regarding student health issues
  • Remaining on-site for the full school day to respond promptly to any medical needs

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM, totaling 35 hours per week with a 45-minute lunch break. The nurse must be available to stay within the building during working hours to ensure immediate attention to student health concerns.

Desired qualifications:

  • Current RN licensure with previous school nursing experience
  • Familiarity with managing pediatric diabetes and other common school health issues
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within an educational environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
