Step into a vital role supporting students as a contract nurse for extended school year (ESY) services. Based at an elementary school, you’ll provide essential care each weekday from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, helping ensure a safe and nurturing environment for children during summer programming.
Ideal candidates are experienced registered nurses with a background in supporting diverse student health needs. Certification as a School Nurse (CSN) or experience in legal nurse consulting brings valuable expertise to this specialized position.
Qualifications:
- Active RN license required
- Experience as a School Nurse and/or Certified School Nurse (CSN) strongly preferred
- Background in legal nurse consulting is a plus
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications
- Ability to work independently in a school setting
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site medical support and oversight to students during ESY hours (8:00 AM – 11:00 AM)
- Monitor and respond promptly to student health conditions, injuries, or medication needs
- Maintain accurate, confidential health records in compliance with school policies
- Collaborate with administrative and teaching staff to address health and safety concerns
- Offer support, education, and guidance to students and staff on health matters
- Maintain stock of medical supplies and document incidents accurately
