A Registered Nurse with school nursing experience is needed for a unique travel nursing opportunity in Ridgewood, NJ, supporting a student attending a private school in nearby Paramus. This role is perfect for an RN skilled in school nursing and providing direct care in educational settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care for a student with complex health needs, including wheelchair support and management of a seizure plan.
- Ride the bus with the student on Mondays and Wednesdays to ensure safety and immediate care during transportation.
- Monitor the student’s health condition throughout the school day, including administering medication if needed.
- Collaborate with school staff and family to support consistent care and communication about the student’s health status.
- Respond promptly to any medical emergencies in accordance with the seizure action plan.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Current RN license with valid certifications.
- Proven experience as a School RN or in pediatric nursing with school-aged children.
- Comfort and experience managing seizure protocols and providing care to students who use wheelchairs.
