You’ll provide invaluable services at a vibrant school community, caring for a caseload of general education 8th graders and all special education students. Your skills as a licensed Registered Nurse will enhance the health resources available to students so they can thrive in their studies and extracurricular pursuits.
Key Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting highly desired
- Confident, self-directed, and able to work without direct training or orientation
- Proficient with routine screenings: vision, hearing, scoliosis
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with students, faculty, and families
- Sensitivity to the needs of both general education and special education populations
Responsibilities:
- Conduct required student health screenings, including vision, hearing, and scoliosis checks
- Deliver general school nursing care and first aid when needed
- Maintain accurate health documentation and records per state and school policies
- Communicate effectively regarding students’ health concerns and collaborate for support plans
- Foster a safe, supportive environment for all students
