Skills & Qualifications:

• Current, unrestricted RN license in Indiana
• Experience as a School Nurse or in pediatric nursing is strongly preferred
• Strong assessment and clinical skills, with the ability to provide compassionate, individualized care
• Knowledge of care planning and documentation in a school setting
• Ability to respond quickly in a medical emergency and administer first aid or medications as needed
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, staff, and parents
• Professional, patient, and adaptable approach

Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 medical support to an assigned student during school hours, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with daily health needs
• Observe and record student health, maintaining thorough, confidential documentation
• Serve as a liaison between the student, family, school staff, and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care
• Respond promptly and appropriately to urgent medical situations
• Educate staff on pertinent student health considerations as appropriate
• Support a positive, inclusive classroom environment by fostering student independence and confidence
