School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Roxboro, North Carolina

An exciting opportunity is available for a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse looking to make a difference in a school setting! This full-time, contract position offers the chance to provide dedicated 1:1 care for a 5th-grade student requiring specialized support. Located just 45 minutes north of Durham, this assignment lets you apply your expertise in a close-knit educational community.

In this role, you’ll partner closely with school staff and the student’s family to ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment. Your day will run from 8:15 am to 3:15 pm, following the academic schedule.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active RN license in North Carolina
• Experience in school nursing or pediatric settings is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of G-tube care and respiratory monitoring
• Comfort working with non-verbal and visually impaired children
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and record-keeping skills
• Ability to respond with compassion and professionalism in all situations

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct, one-on-one nursing care for a 5th-grade female student
• Monitor and manage G-tube feedings and respiratory needs throughout the day
• Observe and respond to changes in health status, alerting appropriate staff and guardians as needed
• Support the student’s daily activities, advocating for her comfort, dignity, and safety
• Accurately document health interventions and progress in accordance with school and nursing protocols
• Collaborate with educators, therapists, and family members to ensure comprehensive support
